Research & Resource Centre (RRC) is now open to public
The Research and Resource Centre, established in 1975, has now opened its doors to members of the public. Initially set up to serve the specialised research and resource needs of the members of the Judiciary and the legal profession, the RRC is expanding its outreach to all our court users who do not have access and means to obtain information on the law and legal resources. This latest initiative complements the Subordinate Courts’ efforts to help litigants-in-person navigate the complex maze that is the judicial process. It is a major milestone as the RRC and the Subordinate Courts seek to serve the community better by increasing access to justice to the lay person through making information on the law easily accessible. By making the RRC’s comprehensive collection of about 30,000 volumes of textbooks, reports, journals covering a wide spectrum of subject areas, available to the public, this will go towards helping to level the playing field for litigants-in-person in the justice process.
The public can look forward to tapping on the niche services provided by RRC, such as complimentary access to the LawNet database, which contains judgments of the Singapore courts, as well as English and Australian judgments, legal research assistance, photocopying service, among other services and amenities. Experienced and trained officers will also be on hand to assist and guide our users through the wealth of legal information and research materials in the RRC.
Members of the public can visit the RRC, located on Level 7 of the Subordinate Courts Complex, during opening hours at the following times:
Mondays - Thursdays: 8.30 am - 6.00 pm
Fridays: 9.30 am – 5.30 pm
